Jesse Alvarado of Mt. SAC in California took third in the men's 4-mile race in 20:23.74 at the Manny Bautista Invitational at NTC Park at Liberty Station in San Diego, Calif. Alvarado was the top two-year college athlete from California in the field, helping the Mounties place fourth overall, including second among California schools, after being edged on a head-to-head tiebreaker with Mesa Community College in Arizona, as both teams had 95 points.
